Hello Everyone of the page, So during one of my MANY thrift store crazy weekends I got this chair at my local thrift store for only $1 (I was tempted to but every chair they had), and wasn’t pretty at ALL.
Well my husband’s first reaction was… “Why did you buy that ugly thing? And where do you think your putting it in this house?" I told him to wait and see what it looks like when I’m done, and then if he still thinks its ugly we can throw it out.
It took me way longer then I’d like to admit to get it done, we were moving from our rented house into a house we just bought. But when it was completed he liked it a lot and now uses it for his photo shoots.
- First I removed all the cushions
- Then stripped and sanded the whole chair
- Sanded it with an 80 grit paper to get the remainder of the stripper and left over paint off. Then I used fine 120-220 grit paper to smooth it all out.
- I painted the whole chair with Valspar semi-glossy white paint.
- For the cushions I carefully cut off the old fabric and used it as a template for the new fabric
